The role and efficacy of gutta percha
The modern root canal filling technology is to fill the prepared root canal with gum and sealant to achieve a high degree of compactness, good taper, precise length, and all root canal spaces (including branches, side branches, isthmus, traffic Support) perfect packing.
The advantages of bioceramic gutta percha
1. Biological gutta-percha tips composed of bioceramic materials;
2. It can form a chemical micromechanical combination with the root filling paste of the bioceramic matrix to improve the sealing effect;
3. Has better biocompatibility;
4. It can also effectively improve the sealing effect when used in conjunction with the sealing agent of glass ion matrix;
5. The X-ray resistance is 30-40% higher than the traditional gutta percha;
6. The size of the biological gutta-percha tip has consistent accuracy;
7. Clean and neat when cutting off
Is the gutta percha on the root canal all the time?
The best position for root canal treatment of the gutta-percha is 1mm from the apical hole. If it is clear that the gutta-percha tip exceeds the apical hole, it is easy to cause inflammation in the apical area. This medicine generally does not work well, and it may cause apical cysts over time. It is recommended to remove the gutta-percha tip and refill the root canal. It is best to measure the length of the root canal before filling. Choose the gutta-percha tip according to the length. After the root canal is filled, take a dental film directly to see if the filling depth is appropriate. If the depth is appropriate, do it again. The next step is filling treatment.
Plasticization treatment has the advantages of simplicity, time-saving, labor-saving, and strong anti-infection ability. But it also has disadvantages:
1. The plasticizing solution filling is not visible on X-ray films, so it is impossible to make immediate evaluation of the effect of plasticizing treatment by taking X-ray films;
2. The old plasticization treatment will seal the root canal and it is difficult to expand. Therefore, once the plasticization treatment fails, it is difficult to re-treat;
3. It is difficult to pile root canals and then do crown repair after plasticized closed root canals.
In recent years, with the development of society and the improvement of economic level, plasticizing therapy has gradually been eliminated and replaced by root canal therapy.
