Retreatment Diagnosis...
The most important step of Retreatment is Knowing the reason or reasons of fauiler.... to try to avoid it in the new treatment....
Not just seeing a periapical lesion or listening to patient complaining and go forward to remove GP..... without knowing the reason of fauiler...... you have a great chance to fail too
In this case patient came to me in 2022 to treat irreversible pulpitis in upper 1st premolar...while diagnosis I told the patient that there is a leaking indirect restoration on upper 2nd premolar needs to be changed.... but there was no signs or symptoms
After 1 year.. in 2023 the patient came with sever pain on bitting related to upper 2nd premolar which developed acute apical periodontitis
Analysing the possible causes of fauiler was done and all resolved in the retreatment phase except changing indirect restoration due to patient travelling..... it will be done once patient returns home
Enjoy.....
